Algund

Algund

Algund bouldering

Algund is located a few kilometers from the famous city Merano in northern Italy (700 metres above sea level). The town itself and the boulder is in a south hillside, therefore it is more popular as a spring and autumn crag. Most of the boulders are woody but it is partly shady so climbers can find routes in summer too. In winter, visitors likely to climb and skiing there, on sunny days boulders are ready to climb. Anyway, Algund is not as famous winter boulder climbing crag as Varazze. Recommended sectors for first time visitors: Schludenstein, Knödelmann or Disneyworld where the blocks are close to each other. There are comfortable parking places at lifts and next to the roads at higher sectors.
